Our competitive program requires a commitment to dance from both dancers and their parents, as the dancers train more extensively throughout the week, and compete in multiple Ontario based competitions throughout the year.

Competitive dance develops coordination, rhythm, strength, posture, flexibility, commitment, discipline and teamwork.

At Rhythm, all competitive dancers strive for excellence. If your child enjoys dance and is prepared to work hard in a fun, yet disciplined environment, then our competitive program has a lot to offer.

Any dancer is welcome to audition for our competitive program. We have 6 incredible competitive teams within our dance family ranging from age 5-18, and auditioning dancers will be accepted into a specific group based on their age, experience, and ability level.

Our competitive dancers train anywhere from 5-16 hours a week, and in styles such as Jazz, Tap, Hip Hop, Contemporary, Lyrical, Acro, and Ballet.

No matter what dance form your child participates in, they are all part of our extended family and can expect our full support and nurturing throughout their dance career and beyond.

Audition Process

Once a year we hold a night of Auditions open to all dancers. Our experienced Faculty instruct classes by age and level to get a sense of where the right placement for all dancers will be. The audition classes are taught like any normal class including a Warm up, Floor work and a Short Combination. From there our staff will assess the dancers and place them in the correct level, and parents will then be contacted as to placement we feel is best for their child!
