FALL 2010 SCHEDULE

At Rock the House Children's Drama Studio
our classes are packed with engaging dramatic activities where the primary focus is on the experience of the participants. This differs from conventional theatre programs in which preparation for a performance is the sole objective. We create a nurturing and fun environment where self expression becomes both effortless and exhilarating. Whether your son or daughter is a natural performer or very shy, they will learn to express themselves with clarity and confidence while having a rewarding and enriching theatre experience.

NEW CLASS! ACTING FOR TELEVISION

Students will learn the ins and outs of performing in front of a camera while acting out scripts from current popular television series'. They will be filmed each week and be able to watch themselves afterwards to critique their performances. They will also perform mock auditions and create their own 30 second commercials. Students will receive a DVD of their work at the end of the session.

Grades 4-8: Monday- 6:00-7:00 PM

Grades 2-6: Tuesday- 6:00-7:00 PM

PERFORMANCE CLASS
BOYS NEEDED!

By interview only

This class is for the more "seasoned" student who has already completed our Drama class or a recognized extra-curricular performing arts program. We will be working on a popular play from the '70s whose "revolutionary" themes of self-identity and discrimination are just as relevant today. There will be a final performance off-site at the end of the session.

Grades 2-6: Monday 5:00-6:00 PM

This is fun!

This class stretches children's vivid imaginations through a mix of theatre games, improvisation, dress up, role-playing, song and movement....all in a fun and nurturing environment.

Grades 1-3: Wednesday 5:00-6:00 PM

JK-SK: Thursday 4:30-5:15 PM

THEATRE SHMEATRE- FOR BOYS & GIRLS!
Through active theatre games and improvisations, students develop a keen ability to think on their feet. They will also build their confidence while learning skills in speech, stage technique and characterization. SK-Grade 1: Tuesday- 4:30-5:15 PM Grades 2-4: Thursday- 5:15-6:15 PM Grades 6-8: Wednesday- 6:00-7:00 PM

This party rocks!

Our action-packed Drama Parties combine theatre games, fun improvs, singing and scene work with creative activities (Guitar decorating, shirt painting, pizza making...)

Birthday boys and girls can choose a special theme around which their unique party will be created, and all ideas can be adapted to ensure an unforgettable celebration.
